Wildlife Photographer | Senior Tour Leader - Guide | Conservationist
The founder of Assam Wildlife Safari and one of Northeast India’s most respected wildlife guides and tour leaders. Based in Kaziranga, he is an award-winning naturalist, wildlife photographer, and conservationist with decades of field experience across Assam, the Eastern Himalayas, and Northeast India.
He was honored with the Wildlife Guide of the Year 2025 by TOFT Wildlife & Nature Tourism Awards and received the Best Tourist Guide of Assam Award in 2019 and 2020 from the Government of Assam.
Through years of dedicated fieldwork, Bitupan has extensively documented the wildlife and natural history of Kaziranga National Park, producing several short documentaries on its unique habitats and iconic species. He has actively participated in bird surveys, rhino censuses, elephant censuses, wild buffalo and Eastern Swamp Deer population surveys in Kaziranga. He has also conducted wildlife guide training programs across Northeast India, helping to build local capacity for sustainable nature tourism and conservation.
